1、充分利用现有工作

    查克•萨可

    查克•萨可有五个孩子。这对意图辞职创业的人来说可算不上是一件好事。因此,萨可就遣散费的问题与公司进行协商,还跟公司签署了一份每月咨询服务合同。随后,他在2007年与别人共同创立了PhindMe Mobile网络移动公司。他说:“当时我每周大约要工作上百个小时。”他的辛劳付出终于获得了回报。2009年,他的公司与位于宾夕法尼亚州布林茅尔的Movitas移动公司合并,并于2010年吸引了300万美元的天使投资。

    

1. Piggyback on your current job

    Chuck Sacco had five kids at home, which isn't a good thing when you'd like to quit your job and start a business. So Sacco negotiated a severance package with his employer -- and a monthly consulting contract -- and co-founded PhindMe Mobile in 2007. "I was probably working 100 hours a week," says Sacco. It paid off. His startup merged with Movitas, a Bryn Mawr, Pa., tech firm, in 2009, and the company attracted $3 million in angel funding in 2010.

 


2、去大学校园物色低廉劳动力

2. Head to campus for cheap labor

    Another way Chuck Sacco, the PhindMe Mobile founder, helped his business: He discovered that teaching an entrepreneurship course at Drexel University was a great way to meet low-cost interns for his young business. Never taught before? Not a problem. Break in by volunteering to speak at a business-school class. Colleges and universities have an insatiable appetite for adjunct professors like Sacco, who also happens to have an MBA -- from Drexel.

 


3、寻找合适的孵化器

3. Find a good incubator

    Opening a business in your garage may be romantic in a startup sort of way. But start off at a local incubator and enjoy the conference rooms, receptionists, and copying machines. It also makes you look a lot more professional, and it's a great way to get good advice. "You really feed off other people's energy," says Edrizio De La Cruz, a former investment banker at J.P. Morgan. He runs his e-commerce startup Regalii.com from a Comcast-backed incubator in Philadelphia's Science Center.

 


4、参加创业竞赛

4. Hit the contest circuit

    The top team at the 2011 Rice Competition, TNG Pharmaceuticals, took home prizes valued at nearly $650,000.

    Many major business schools run competitions for students and alumni, awarding prize money to help fund their startups. (Fortune is a sponsor of the Rice University Business Plan Competition.) These can be a great source of seed money, largely because you generally don't have to pay it back. 5、寻求本地资源的友情支持

5. Search for free advice at home

    What's the first thing Jacksonville's Clint Drawdy did when he left a corporate recruiting company to start his health care IT firm iMethods? "I opened my church directory," he says. That's how he found a local banker to join his all-volunteer board. The banker helped him attract a CPA, a lawyer, and contacts in sales and operations. Drawdy buys them lunch and invites them on outings where they can network. Eight years later the company is profitable; it had revenue of $6 million last year.
